About us |||

The Wonder Grove is a nonprofit on a mission to build an outdoor children’s museum in West Sacramento — a place for families and kids to embrace nature, engage in joyful exploration, and enjoy innovative learning experiences, all year long.

Founded in 2024 by a team of parents, educators, and community members — we’re working towards our goal of opening The Wonder Grove museum by 2027. Until then, look for community events each month!

FAQs

  • Forget those "shhh, don't touch!" museums where you have to tiptoe around ancient vases and priceless paintings! A children's museum is like a playground for your brain where touching, exploring, and even making a (reasonable) ruckus is totally encouraged!

    The Wonder Grove's concept is centered around immersive outdoor experiences. We aim to reconnect children — and their grown-ups — to nature, creating outdoor spaces where natural curiosity and exploration can flourish. Bring your sense of wonder and imagination outside and leave your inside voice at home.

    Our mission is to get families outside, engaging with the natural world through play and discovery. The Wonder Grove invites visitors to climb, explore, create, and adventure in an environment designed to spark curiosity about the outdoors. Here, muddy knees are badges of honor, and spontaneous exploration is encouraged. Step away from screens and structured indoor activities. At The Wonder Grove, we celebrate the unpredictable magic of outdoor play — whether that's splashing in puddles, building with natural materials, or simply lying in the grass watching clouds drift by.

  • The Wonder Grove doesn't have an official opening date just yet, but we're working hard to make this dream a reality as soon as possible.

    The truth is, our grand opening depends largely on community support and funding. Think of it like growing a magical garden – we need the right amount of sunshine (community enthusiasm), water (volunteers), and plant food (financial support) to help it bloom!

    We are working with community partners to secure a location and maintaining our free weekly play groups. Your support now will help us launch more programming in the community and prepare for a capital campaign.

  • Each donation brings us one step closer to opening our gates. Every volunteer hour helps build our community. And every voice spreading the word about our museum supports our momentum.

    Want to help us open sooner? Consider:

    • Donating (even small amounts add up to a big impact)

    • Volunteering your time and talents

    • Attending our fundraising events

    • Telling your friends and family about our project

    • Connect us with community donors and sponsors.

    We promise to keep you updated on our progress.
